Please note that Waiting List Sign-up is NOT the same as On-Time Registration. It is important that you understand these differences BEFORE you register your child(ren).
- EUSA is NOT obligated to try and place any child who is signed up under the Waiting List. This means that EUSA will not try to create additional teams, nor order extra uniforms to accommodate any child who is on the Waiting List.
- Players are placed onto teams ONLY if there are available spots on teams that already exist.
- For those families registering multiple children, each child will be treated separately, even if they are in the same division. This means that it is possible that a child may be placed onto a team, while their siblings are not placed. EUSA will not make any exceptions under any condition. If you are uncomfortable with this policy, please do not sign up your children via our Waiting List.
- Players are placed onto teams on a first registered, first placed basis.
- Existing teams will not be rearranged so that Waiting List players can be placed onto them.
- Under no circumstances are parents allowed to make special requests for their child to be placed onto a specific team, or with a specific coach or other player. The On-Line Service will automatically delete any requests made when the payment is accepted.
- If you are willing to volunteer to be a HEAD COACH for a team and there is a need for a head coach in your child’s division, your child will be placed onto a team before any other child who signs up via the Waiting List (or those who registered on time). Please note that the team may not be based on the same school that your child attends and EUSA will not rearrange teams on such a basis unless it is absolutely necessary.
- If you have more than one child that you are placing onto the Waiting List, but only offer to be the HEAD COACH for just one of them, then only that child will be placed onto a team ahead of any other child. All of your other children will be placed based on the order that they were registered.
EUSA is run by people who volunteer their (limited) personal time to help the children in the program play. As such all parents are required to either volunteer to help the Club in some way or to pay a fee to opt out of doing so. The ONLY volunteer option available for those families using the Waiting List Sign-up is HEAD COACH (you may NOT volunteer to be an assistant coach). If you volunteer to be a HEAD COACH and there is a need for your services as a HEAD COACH you will be notified right away. If you volunteer to be HEAD COACH and there is no need for your services as HEAD COACH, you will have to pay the $10 fee via check prior to your child being allowed to participate. Those parents who volunteer and satisfactorily serve as HEAD COACH for the entire Spring 2007 season will be issued a $25 refund for the child they coached during the season. This refund will be issued AFTER the last week of the season.
EUSA will not begin placing children from the Waiting List onto teams until the beginning of March, well after the teams have been formed. This is so that the coaches of these teams can make contact with the players, and notify EUSA of any players who withdraw from the program. Under no circumstances should parents contact any coach to ask them if there is a spot on the team. The coaches will notify the Division Directors who, in turn, will notify the Program VPs who will contact the parents on the list.
SPECIAL NOTICE
In looking at all of the applications that EUSA has received from those who registered on time, there will definitely be a need for head coaches in certain age groups and this can either delay or prevent your child from being taken off the Waiting List and placed onto a team. If you see that there is a need for head coaches in your child’s grade, then it is not likely that your child will be taken off the Waiting List and placed onto a team. If you are willing to be a HEAD COACH (NOT assistant coach) for your child, then your child will be taken off of the Waiting List as soon as possible.
If EUSA determines that there are no opportunities that exist to place your child, a full refund will be issued during the first week of April. If your child is placed onto a team and you later decide to request a refund, EUSA will deduct an administrative fee based on expenses that were already paid on behalf of your child from your refund amount.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO MOVED INTO EDISON or METUCHEN AFTER OCTOBER 13, 2006 – The $25 penalty fee will be refunded to you after you provide proof that you recently moved into either Edison or Metuchen after October 13. Such proof must include your first gas/electric bill at your new address and your last gas/electric bill from your previous address. This bill must have your name on it.
