Travel Division Tryouts
for Special Spring 2002 "One-Season-Only" Teams

Tryouts will be held for each age/gender group only if a tryout leader and enough volunteers have agreed to do the necessary work for a specific group. In other words, it is possible (in fact, likely) that not all age/gender groups will be holding a tryout for the spring 2002 season. Please contact Recreation Division Directors to express interest in participating in a tryout and to find out if a tryout is being considered.

- If time permits, information regarding specific tryouts which have been scheduled will be posted on this web page, including locations, dates, and times for each age division as the information becomes available. You will also find additional details regarding directions to tryout locations, what you should bring, and what to do if it is impossible for you to come at the scheduled time.
- The Tryout Registration form is available for download in Acrobat PDF format and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to display it and print it. You can download the latest version of Reader free from
Adobe's web site.
- You may print and fill out the form in advance and bring it to the tryouts, or you may fill out a form when you arrive at the tryouts.
- A Coaching Application is also available in PDF format and if you are interested in coaching one of our new teams, you may fill that out, as well, and bring it to the tryouts.
Directions to the Municipal Complex: Take Route 27 to the traffic light which is one block south of the Pines Manor and across from the VW Dealership. If you are going SOUTH on Route 27 (toward Highland Park) turn RIGHT into the Municipal Complex. If you are going NORTH on Route 27 (toward Metuchen) turn LEFT into the Municipal Complex. Take this street (Municipal Blvd - the small street sign on the post still says Thomas A. Edison Blvd) straight back and follow the slight curve to the right as you pass the Municipal Building. Park in any of the designated spots on your left or right. The lighted soccer practice fields are across the lawn inside the fenced area.
All participants must bring a dark color shirt and a light color shirt. Wear shinguards and cleats. And you should also bring water.
If at all possible, interested players should come to the tryout, as this will improve the chances of being placed on a team. If your child cannot come to the tryout for his or her age group, but would like to participate, then you MUST contact Wil van der Veen at or e-mail him at wecj and tell him of your interest.
