Schedule for Tryouts for the Fall 2002/Spring 2003 Season
MISSED TRYOUTS? You may still submit an application to be considered for placement on a Travel team. Pick up an application for Travel at one of the Recreation League sign-up sessions:
- Stelton Community Center
- Friday, May 17, 7 pm to 9:45 pm
- Saturday, May 18, 3 pm to 6 pm
- Fill out the form and hand it in at the Recreation Sign-Up. If you are planning to attend the tryouts for U13 Boys or U13 Girls on May 20, 5:30-6:45pm at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, then you should bring your completed application to the tryout. Or you may arrive 15 minutes early to the tryout session and fill out an application there.
- If you want to have Rec as a backup in case you don't get on a Travel team, then you must sign-up for Rec by filling out a Recreation Membership Application at Stelton Community Center on May 17 or 18 as indicated above. If placed on a Travel team, your Rec fee will be credited toward your Travel fee.
- NOTE: Current EUSA policy prohibits any player from playing on an EUSA Travel team and Recreation team in the same season.
- All players who are currently on a Travel team AND all players who are not on a Travel team MUST FILL OUT A TRAVEL TRYOUT FORM prior to trying out.
- Tryouts will be held at John Adams Middle School on New Dover Rd (between Oak Tree Rd and Grove Ave) and at Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Division St (behind Stelton Community Center and Edison Main Library. See the chart below for times and dates for each location.
- All participants must bring a dark color shirt and a light color shirt, shinguards and cleats, and please bring plenty of water. You must come to at least one of the tryouts, but attending both will improve your chances of making a team. If your child cannot come to either of the two tryouts for his or her age group, but would like to participate, then you MUST contact Wil van der Veen at 732-549-4105 or e-mail him at wecj and tell him of your interest.
- In the chart below the age groupings are based on the official FIFA classifications. "Playing up" (playing on a team of players in an older age group, for example, a U12 player playing on a U13 team), is permitted under certain conditions. There are generally no restrictions on playing up if the members of the older team are in the same school grade as the younger player. Trying out for and playing on older teams may also be allowed if permission is granted by the Travel Committee after reviewing the individual case.

COACHES:
- Anyone interested in coaching a Travel team, or continuing to coach a Travel team must fill out a Travel League Coaching Application, which we hope to make available in PDF format later this month. You may download, print, and fill it out, and bring it to the tryouts. Or you may simply pick up a form at the tryouts and fill it out right there.
